The applicable age may vary depending on the product, country, and relevant regulations, so the organizer should determine the appropriate eligibility requirements and clearly explain them in the promotion’s Terms and Conditions.

In the following example, the promotion featured content intended for users aged 18 and over. Participants who entered a date of birth showing that they were under 18 were informed that they could not access the promotion.

Other Ways to Manage Age Requirements
An age restriction screen helps prevent participants who do not meet the minimum age from accessing the promotion. However, the date of birth is provided by the participant, so it should not be considered independent proof of their identity or age.
Depending on the campaign and applicable requirements, you can use additional measures.
Request Date of Birth in the Registration Form
Activate the Date of Birth field in the registration form so the participant’s age is recorded with their registration.
This gives the organizer additional information that can be reviewed when validating participation or selecting winners.
Include the Age Requirement in the Terms and Conditions
Clearly state the minimum age for participation in the promotion’s Terms and Conditions and explain that participants who do not meet the eligibility requirements will not be considered valid.
When appropriate, the Terms and Conditions can also establish that a selected winner must provide proof that they meet the age requirement before receiving the prize.
If a winner does not meet the published eligibility criteria, the organizer can follow the replacement process established in the Terms and Conditions.
Ask Participants to Confirm That They Meet the Age Requirement
You can also add an opt-in field to the registration form asking participants to confirm that they meet the required minimum age.
This provides an additional confirmation from the participant, although it should not be considered independent verification of their age.
